Abstract:
From August 18 to 21, 2024, the Western Liaoning Province experienced rainstorm to heavy rainstorm and local extremely heavy rainstorm disaster. Among them, the Huludao area encountered a extremely strong rainstorm, with the maximum process point rainfall of 648.3 mm and the maximum daily point rainfall of 638.8 mm, both have exceeded the maximum since there were complete meteorological records of Liaoning Province in 1951. The extremely heavy rainstorm and the large amount of water have been severely affected Jianchang County and Suizhong County in Huludao City. By reviewing the response to the extremely heavy rainstorm disasters in Huludao City, comprehensively examine the impact of the existing flood prevention system in Huludao City, that scientifically assess the weak links in flood prevention, provide reference experiences for improving the capacity of extremely heavy rainstorms prevention and response.
